Refuge Productions! A collection of scenes...

28 April 2017 - 07:35 AM

"Oh my Jon, why did I decide to play as Laurel?"

Patsy had been waiting in the wings for her integral (and only) appearance in this part of the play. Sure, this was rehearsal, but she couldn't help but feel nervous...

She pulled out her script and anxiously devoured her lines. But her attention wandered to the stage. At least she could watch her friends of the Refuge play their roles as the heroes of Weyard...

(Anyone may join in and make themselves play any character they want. You can also be part of the production staff, or just interrupt the entire thing in whatever way you wish... just help me. 8') )

What?'s Member Appreciation Thread! And it's for his birthday too 'caus...

27 March 2017 - 05:13 AM

In What?'s own words (because his wifi sucks):

The glorious and magnificent What? What is a cool dude. He is like soon cool that he is cool. No one is better than What? Because What? Is the best. I have known What? All my life. He is like soo like cool. Like totally cool. No one deserves a thread like What? because What? Is like the best. So let's all appreciate What? On this glorious momentous day! A day what gets his appreciation thread on his birthday! Because he is soon like very cool he is frosty. Like What?'s crowning achievement his existence and presence. Like What? What? Is cool and deserves this thread because all his glory must be recognized by his awesomesauceness!

This blurb doesn't even begin to describe the guy. Like, he's just as he is offline as he is online, except his spelling doesn't matter. =P

What? is one of the best people I know. He's smart, talented, and (most importantly) kind and sweet. He has infinite patience for his friends, and I appreciate that very much. He also gives good spin hugs! I miss hanging out with you. Maybe we'll be able to view the cherry blossoms when it's not freaking dark outside, haha.

Happy Birthday! Go out and eat chili or something. :3

Welcome to the Refuge, Bots!

ATTN: Josh, Kiri, What?

21 March 2017 - 03:54 AM

We make a four-man team now!

Josh (Ryu Gaia) - Venus Clan
Kiri - Mercury Clan
What? - Mars Clan
and me, Jupiter!

Dudes, we can totally make a game for ourselves. Go out on an adventure, see the world, save it from immediate destruction! And we can gamble and risk our lives!

I know we're older now, but I think we got this. We can make GS4 happen. What do you say? <3

St. Patrick's Day!

17 March 2017 - 06:08 AM

Anyone have plans? I don't really have anything different from my usual schedule, to be honest... I never really had a strong connection to the holiday, apart from wearing something green every year or so. It's not a bad holiday, but I don't have any connection to Ireland, so... it feels a bit weird, haha.

Fun local factoid: "Mill Ends Park in downtown Portland, Oregon, is a small park that was created on St. Pratrick's Day, 1948, to be a colony for leprechauns and a location for snail races. It is the smallest park in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, which first granted it this recognition in 1971. The "park" is a circle two feet (610 mm) across in a traffic median which in 1948 was intended to be the site for a light pole." - Keep Portland Weird

Also, a Wiki article on the darn park. I especially love the section on the Legend of the park itself:

"Fagan told the story of the park's origin: He looked out the window and spotted a leprechaun digging in the hole. He ran down and grabbed the leprechaun, which meant that he had earned a wish. Fagan said he wished for a park of his own, but since he had not specified the size of the park in his wish, the leprechaun gave him the hole.[4] Over the next two decades, Fagan often featured the park and its head leprechaun in his whimsical column. Fagan claimed to be the only person who could see the head leprechaun, Patrick O'Toole.[3]

Fagan published a threat by O'Toole about the 11 o'clock curfew set on all city parks. O'Toole dared the mayor to try to evict him and his followers from Mill Ends and threatened a leprechaun curse on him should he attempt to do so. Subsequently, no legal action was taken, and the leprechauns were allowed to stay in the park after hours.[5]"

I still need to make a pilgrimage...

For those of you who like some primary resources... Here's St. Patrick's Confessio/Confession. It's a mix of a biography and a declaration of faith, moreso the latter. I highly recommend at least skimming through it, it's fascinating stuff.
