Summons

Summons are powerful entities which may be called upon when in battle in order to unleash a devastating attack upon one's opponents. In addition to this, summons also bolster the party's associated elemental powers for a period of time after thier use. The party must have a certain number of Djinn set to "Standby Mode" in order to release a summon.

Djinn Box

Summoning a Beast

Every time you unleash one of your Djinni within a battle, or do it manually from the overworld menu, it will be set to "Standby Mode" and will appear in the "Djinni box" on the top screen of the DS. If you aren't too keen on the idea of having to manually count all of your Set Djinni, there is a small box at the top left of the touchscreen which lists the number of Djinn from each element that has been set.

Once you have the required number of Djinn set to standby, you can access the summon menu and select your desired summon. All summons, with the exception of Coatlicue, will damage the enemy and provide your party with an elemental power boost. This comes at a price, however: after being used for a summon, the Djinn will enter a recovery mode and will not be available for use for several turns (or several moments when in the overworld). As a result of this, it is better to save your Djinn for boss battles, or stronger enemies, as weaker monsters can easily be defeated through psynergy or normal attacks.
